Using A-Frame and Glitch to code an environment for my blender creatures, I focused on creating a snow-scaped cotton candy land. The powerful and wise Shi Shroom waits under the arch to provide the Blue-Footed Pickle with its wisdom of the mountain on the horizon. However, the Blue-Footed Pickle has only just emerged and grown his feet, so his first steps toward the mountains on the horizon will take longer than he wants. Patience is essential when in the mountains; the Shi Shroom is here to teach the Pickle that you must learn how to move your feet and be safe before the adventure begins. From my many years competing in Alpine Ski Racing, there is great importance for athletes and recreational skiers to be aware of the dangers surrounding the mountains and their equipment. Here the Mushroom blocks the road as he waits to pass on the knowledge.
For the first time creating a VR environment using A-Frame and Glitch by coding in HTML and JavaScript was challenging due to multiple glitches with gif material shaders not showing up and sounds incorporated on gltf files did not consistently play. To further my research and create cleaner code in glitch, I found a series of youtube channels that aided my research towards this project.
Below is the beginning of the series:
Part 11 - Adding physics is a section I tried to incorporate into my code. However, as soon as I added the code, the preview of my environment would not load. The adding physics would have provided the effect of "snowballs" falling once you click on an object which would have elevated the environment by adding more props. In addition, to improve my environment, I would add mushroom dressing to enhance the environment setting. However, despite the difficulties with this project, I clearly understood how to create a clean code to allow what objects in my environment to work.
Gltf files had to be fixed as skins from project 2 did not export:
Video: screen recording doesn't capture sound :(
